So I haven't had time to do anything recently. Like check out cafes.
Actually, no, that's a lie. I have been to a few cafes, but I am seriously feeling the oddness of whipping out the camera and taking photos of the food and place. Funny, that, because I never used to care so much. Perhaps now I just don't care about different things. In the past, I didn't really care about what people think when I take photos of food, because I've been doing that for years- even before the stereotype came about, of Asians taking photos of their food endlessly. It was my way of documenting moments, knowing that my memory fails me often.
Now I just don't care so much about documenting less important moments. What I ate two days ago is what I define as "less important" because it certainly isn't as important as being present in that moment with my friend concentrating on the conversation at hand. Perhaps if I were alone, I would feel more relaxed about taking photos, but a camera to me now feels like a device that shouldn't be present at dining tables, much like the phone.
That aside, there is certain company which I know wouldn't mind the camera, like my cafe buddies, so unless I'm out with them, I doubt I'll blog about cafes or restaurants. Happens that I was out with the princess recently and visited:

They serve really interesting food. This takes fusion to a whole different level. Imagine: Italian, Modern Australian (aka American), Mexican and Korean, all mixed into one gigantic indistinguishable cuisine. That's what this cafe is all about. I love that they do brunch and dinner, we need more cafes that open till late, ie past 4pm.
Will&Co coffee- a bit more of a subtle coffee taste. Others might say it's weak stuff, but I quite like it.

Breakfast range from muesli and yoghurt, to full breakfast boards for 2, which looked absolutely delicious, but I decided to choose an eggs benedict classic, just to test waters. Princess also chose an egg benedict with smoked salmon.

Sorry, did I say classic? I meant, "classic", because you never really see slow-cooked pork belly in an eggs benedict. Is this a Korean injection into a traditional American breakfast item? Pork belly with hollandaise sauce... not sure how I feel about that, but I must say, the pork belly itself was so good. Wilted spinach on toast, poached eggs, balsamic and hollandaise drizzle, this was a breakfast I didn't mind having at all, despite the rather unusual combination.

Let's not forget the test, shall we? They are lucky- my first egg was perfect, my second was slightly over, but I can forgive that. It was only slightly.
We first discovered this place late at night back a couple of weeks ago. I was running a temperature and everything tasted like water back then. Some food from dinner:

Yes, that is from a camera on my phone. Are you confused? I am confused. There's pizza, bibimbap and chilli fries on the menu. Not complaining though- it just means there's always something for everyone, whether you be craving pizza or rice. There are always two sides to this though- when one "fuses" cuisines together, traditions are lost and rather than being good at one specific cuisine type, you risk being mediocre in many.
"Jack of all trades, master of none".
Not saying that the cafe is mediocre though, because it certainly isn't. I enjoyed their breakfast thoroughly, can't say the same for their dinner items because I couldn't judge it fairly with a faulty palate at that time. It's worth visiting for coffee at least.
